This web hosting plan needs at least a 12 month contract. They advertise low monthly prices but actually require you to pay for 1, 2, 3 or 5 years at once to get the discounted prices.

Plan features

All 3 of the Bluehost shared web hosting plans include a FREE Domain. Daily Backups is included which is nice. Domain Whois Protection is also included with Choice Plus but it do costs an extra $0.99/mo with this plan. SiteLock Monitoring is another $1.99/mo and can be very useful to have - at least if you really need your site to always be 100% healthy and to reduce the potential downtime. The SEO extra feature costs $2.99/mo and is not something I would recommend considering how the product (which consists of SEO guides) can easily be replaced by free info found on reputable site online - More info here. A dedicated IP and SSL Certificate costs $3.33/mo (Comodo PositiveSSL Bundle) - You need to select the yearly contract for this extra to be available, and it is also billed annually.

Data center location

Servers are located in the USA, in Provo in Utah.

Conclusion

Having live billing, sales and tech support is nice.

FREE domain for one year is decent but the $12/year whois privacy is very expensive, and the $15.99 cost for renewing your domain is high. You can get a cheaper domain at another registrar instead, at least if you need whois privacy. Check our domain guide. No SSD storage will slow your sites down compared with many other hosts. The plans will renew at about twice the cost after your inital billing cycle.

To get the $9.95/mo price it is required to set up a yearly billing cycle. Unlike many hosts which have discounts for their initial term and renews at substantially higher prices, DreamHost renews this plan at the same price and duration as your initial commitment. If you select a 3 year billing cycles the price will be only $7.95/mo. If you rather want to be billed monthly it will cost $10.95/mo.

Plan features

The DreamHost WordPress Shared plan comes with WordPress pre-installed and you can host unlimited WP websites with it. The SSL Certificate is the free Let’s Ecrypt SSL. The FREE Domain is included with 1 or 3 year billing cycles and it will only be free for the first year, after that it will be reasonably priced to renew. The Malware Remover is not only a malware scan like most other sites offer, but also as suggested, a malware remover. This could save your website from downtime and it costs $3/mo.

The MySQL VPS gives you virtually dedicated resources for hosting your database. DreamHost claims it will increase the speed and reliability of your database, I am not sure how important it is if you use caching plugins for your WordPress sites. The first week is free and after that you will only pay for the amount of resources your database needs, starting at $15/mo.

The WordPress Migration Service costs $99 and promises to seamlessly move your WordPress installation over to your new hosting without downtime. It costs $99 which I think is a bit expensive considering you are also moving your hosting to this company. It could be good value though if you have lots of content and plugins that would make your site a real hassle to move and might require payed plugins to get the job done anyways. You need to check “Install WordPress” on the billing page (after choosing domain) to show the WordPress Migration Service option.

Conclusion

The long 97 day money back guarantee with this offers is great and reassuring. Few payment options is a drawback. Dreamhost are not accepting PayPal unlike most other hosts. Dreamhost states that this is the least powerful of their 4 WordPress hosting plans and that sites hosted with this offer only can accommodate an estimate of up to 10.000 monthly visitors.

However it is almost only half the price of the Basic DreamPress plan and that plan does not have a free domain or whois privacy.

To get the price of $16.95/ mo you need to pre pay for 1 year of hosting. If you want to pay on a month-to-month basis the price will be slightly higher: $19.95/mo.

Plan features

The DreamPress hosting plans has lots of bells and whistles for your WordPress site. They will install WP for you with several plugins and themes that are considered "battle-tested" by DreamHost. They promise to serve your web pages lightning fast with features like SSD storage, Object Caching, HTTP2, PHP 7 and the Jetpack plugin. You also get access to WordPress Expert Support 24/7.

Migrating to DreamPress

The WordPress Migration Service costs $99 and promises to seamlessly move your WordPress installation over to your new hosting without downtime. It costs $99 which I think is a bit expensive considering you are also moving your hosting to this company. It could be good value though if you have lots of content and plugins that would make your site a real hassle to move and might require payed plugins to get the job done anyways.

Domain price

A .com domain is $11.99 for the first year and slightly more after that, which is great considering that the Whois Privacy is free.

Conclusion

They only accept credit and debit cards and that is a slight drawback. The 30 day money back guarantee is OK. The limiting of how many websites you can host is another drawback. Or at least it could be, if you have multiple sites.

The performance features of the DreamPress plans are nice and will help your sites load fast with features like Brotli compression, HTTP/2 and the Nginx web server. Your site will also get HTTPS by default. If you outgrow your DreamPress plan you can upgrade with a simple click of the mouse, unless you are already hosted with the most powerful one.

Dreamhost states that this plan is suitable for websites with around 10.000 monthly visitors.

Yearly or longer billing cycles

1 year pre paid billing cycle required to get the listed price. 2 years billing cycles adds a discount to the price and for 3 year billing cycles you get even more discount. There is no month-to-month billing options for this plan unfortunately, which can be a pretty big drawback. If you want to pay monthly I would suggest to check out TMDHosting which has very similar shared cloud web hosting plans or even the premium web hosting company Liquid Web which only offers monthly billing!

Cloud plan benefits

You data on a cloud server like this is more reliable, it is mirrored 3 times to help withstand hardware failures and retain uptime. Loading speed benefits include the choice of 5 different levels of caching. If your traffic grows and you need more resources in the future then you can easily allocate more server resources or move to another plan all with the click of a button, all without restarts of your server or downtime at all. You can easily see how much resources you are using and if you should upgrade. Every cloud plan comes with a free domain name.

Extra features

The Daily Backups extra costs $2.99/mo (included with the Pro plan) and lets you select backups from daily, weekly or monthly when and if you need to recover files. You can select only a couple or files and folders or the entire site depending on what you need. Domain Whois Privacy is $0.99/mo (included with the Pro plan) and lets you hide your personal name and contact information from your domain information that will be posted on lots of sites on the internet. Search Engine Jumpstart is a bundle with SEO resources and tips and costs $2.99/mo. You can get a lot of SEO tips for free online though, check out out our guide and lists with resources here. The SiteLock Monitoring scans daily for lots of bad stuff like malware. It costs $1.99/mo.

Control panel integrated w/ marketplace and WordPress

The Bluehost shared cloud plan control panel is deeply integrated with WordPress and the Mojo addon marketplace. Ideally you should use WordPress to get the most out of this hosting plan. It comes with easy installaation of WordPress which is nice. The integrated marketplace offers lots of different products including expert WP support which costs $29/mo for the cheapest option and $149/mo for the most expensive option, if you think you need that service you might want to compare plans that includes WP support without charging extra for it. Other services includes Site Migration for $149, G Suite for $5/mo and much more.

Add more resources to the hosting planYou can also add more resources in the marketplace.

Conclusion

Even though this is the most expensive Bluehost cloud plan it is the one that gives the most bang for the buck. It includes SSL, dedicated IP, whois privacy for the free domain, and backups. No SSD storage though which is a pretty big drawback to all the Bluehost shared and cloud hosting plans.
